Shared Wenshan Support Project

Rural K-12 Humanities, Arts & Tech Literacy Project

文字設定:

After the implementation of the 108 New Curriculum Guidelines, there is a significant need for teachers who can implement diverse and innovative courses in the education field. Especially in rural middle schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens, the focus will be on how to cultivate teachers with diverse teaching abilities. This will be a crucial task for improving the quality of K-12 education in rural areas over the next three years.

This project builds on NCCU’s 2018 Soobi Technology Education initiative by pooling cross‐campus and interdisciplinary resources to expand aesthetic learning in tech and the arts across Taiwanese schools. It aims to close the urban–rural art education gap and help rural schools develop STEAM‐based art curricula rich in local craft traditions.

Art education courses and teacher training, along with the social practice aspects of this project, will be integrated with general education courses and professional domain courses related to educational innovation. This will involve interdisciplinary teaching integration, as well as assisting course instructors in incorporating social practice actions into the classroom, allowing students to actively participate in social practice work.
Therefore, the implementation strategy of this project will include three aspects:

  1. Establish a STEAM Humanities and Arts Teaching Promotion Organization for K-12

  2. Develop K-12 STEAM-oriented Humanities and Arts Teaching Plans and Teaching Materials

  3. Develop University STEAM Humanities and Arts Education and Social Practice Talent Training Programs
