After six years of collaborative efforts by the Ministry of Education, NCCU’s Center for Aboriginal Studies, and Indigenous communities, the Atayal and Seediq language editions have officially been approved and launched by the Wikimedia Foundation—following the earlier launch of the Sakizaya edition.

On February 19, NCCU’s “Thriving Ankang, Shared Wenshan” USR team met with principals and student‐affairs directors from NCCU Affiliated, Jingmei Girls’, and Wanfang Senior High Schools to plan collaborative course development.

NCCU applied in early 2020 to join the Taiwan United University System, securing support from its partner universities and awaiting Ministry of Education approval early next year, while the “+1” represents a social enterprise that will underpin Greater Wenshan’s community revitalization.

Universities must fulfill their social responsibility by empowering students to apply their strengths to advance society—technologically, economically, socially, and culturally—improve people’s lives, and promote social progress.

NCCU, together with the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau and the Tea Research and Extension Station, is driving the “Greater Taipei Tea Road” project and its “50 + 1” social enterprise, in which 50 consumers support one farm through product sales and immersive farm experiences to revitalize the Greater Wenshan tea industry and aid young farmers’ return.

Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Czech Senate, arrived in Taiwan on August 30. On August 31, he delivered his first public lecture in Taiwan at NCCU. The delegation of 44 included Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib, the Czech Academy of Sciences Vice President, university presidents, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra Director, and representatives from academia, culture, and media.

At the University Vision Consensus Camp, NCCU announced a 20% increase in international enrollments under the New Southbound Policy and unveiled its upcoming “One Class, One Scholarship” program, with each college presenting strategies to diversify curricula and enhance student support.

NCCU’s “Thriving Ankang, Shared Wenshan” University–Community Co-Benefit Project (USR Shared Wenshan) hosted “Poverty Symposium II: Solidarity Among the Poor – Taiwan’s Homeless Communities and Welfare System” on June 24.

NCCU and Fuxing Township Office are collaborating on a “happy scientific experiment” in local revitalization—enhancing tourism infrastructure with an NT$8 million Tourism Bureau grant and fostering youth-farmer exchanges and job creation, President Kuo Ming-Cheng and Professor Hsu Shih-Jung explained.

NCCU’s College of Education launched a STEAM-based Humanities, Arts, and Technology Literacy Enhancement Program for rural K–12 schools to integrate local culture into student learning, a mission Director Guo Chao-You says fosters social responsibility in every learner.

In 2019, NCCU and Dayeh University partnered with Fuxing Township to launch the “Toward a Smart and Prosperous Township” revitalization plan—aimed at creating thousands of jobs and upgrading local industries.

On July 4, 16 members of NCCU’s International Volunteer Association will embark on “Mission Qinghai 2019” for a three-week service in Yushu City, Qinghai Province. Divided into two groups—led by Guo Mei-Hsiu at Gaduo Boarding School and Lin Hsing-Ju at Zhenqin Boarding School—they will support local students through teaching and community activities.
